Before the event - inspired and ready to go!

Toronto is beautiful! Behind me is the CN Tower which was completed in 1976 and held the record for the tallest free-standing structure for 5 years.

Dr. Shefali was amazing with her heart-centered approach and charisma. drshefali.com

How to learn with the FAST method

Forget

Forget what you know. We often assume we know things, and that is not necessarily true to the extent that is possible. Come into new learnings by forgetting what you already know and open up to more possibility.

Active

Learn based on consumption and co-creation, not passive but active learning.

State of mind

Have the proper state of mind for learning. Curiosity goes a long way when it comes to learning.

What new things have crossed your path recently that you are curious about?

Teach

Teaching is one of the best ways to learn.

Note : when I started teaching hypnosis, my understanding of WHY it works doubled because I was challenged with explaining it (teaching it) to others in an elegant and optimized way.

Favorite soundbites

  • “The life you live are the lessons you teach”. What are you teaching?
  • “Reasons Reap Results”

Was this helpful? Yes or Yes as Jim would say!

Dr. Shefali

People are not so complicated

There’s usually 1-3 things going on at all times and it has to do with our fear of scarcity and separation, and a desire to be loved:

  • Do you see me? (YES!)
  • Do you hear me?  (YES!)
  • Am I worthy? (YES!)

On Blame

When we blame others we experience a momentary transfer and relief from our issues and project those issues upon another, but the reality is that they are our issues and we need to resolve them.

This is important because it highlights what the BRAIN is doing when we experience certain sensations - and how the momentary relief from a bad feeling can cause problems later on. To be clear, many clients that come in for hypnosis are stuck desiring the momentary escape from bad feelings (not good enough, stress, or low confidence), and so they turn to something that brings momentary relief (alcohol, food, smoking). Understanding how the brain works is an important part of being a great hypnotherapist and this nugget on blame will help you in session with clients!

On Growth

Growth is not additive, meaning you will not grow by doing more, and more and more. Rather it is deconstructive – it’s the burning down and taking away of that which is not needed. Let it cinder to ash, let it all go.
