In this video, Cal and I are here to share some insight on how you can make more money and be more successful with your hypnosis practice. If you aren’t making money then you are not going to be able to help people like you want to. We are addressing five money blocks that will keep your practice from reaching financial success, and giving you our advice on how to overcome those blocks!
The honest truth is that money can feel hard to come by. But it’s actually not. Money is an exchange of energy. Our clients have been struggling for years with their issues, and their results are worth THOUSANDS to them. And Some of our own money blocks are our own limiting beliefs about self-worth!
It’s important as hypnotists we work on ourselves. We must fix our own issues first. If money is an issue for you in your life right now, do some self-hypnosis to resolve. The best hypnotists use hypnosis to resolve their own issues - either alone, or with a colleague.
These money blocks that we’re talking about can be like “silent killers” to your hypnosis practice. These blocks linger over you and can prevent you from success and keep you from reaching your goals.
As hypnotists, all we want to do is help people, we want to help our clients and we want them to get great results. But we have to be able to make money so that we can keep our practices up and running in order to provide to our clients.
Cal and I have come up with a list of what we think are the five biggest money blocks that hypnotists experience. And never fear, we also have insight and advice on how you can overcome all five of these blockers.
1. Doing free sessions and not charging at all.
Hypnotists love helping people, it’s the simple truth! But Cal and I have both met many hypnotists who feel weird asking for money, because they just love helping people. But what you have to keep in mind is that people only value what they put time, money and effort into. If you're not charging, they're not going to take you seriously. A lot of people also don't have a lot of experience asking for money. So what I like to tell them is when your client is sitting in front of you, just say something like, "How would you like to pay for that today?" It's really easy. Doing free sessions and not charging at all is not only a a financial burden on your business, but it can also be a factor on your client’s success because if they are not financially invested in their session, they might not take it as seriously as they need to be. So really by not charging, you’re doing more bad than good.
2. Not charging enough for your hypnosis sessions.
Not charging enough for your hypnosis sessions is just like what we said about not charging at all, clients don't value what they get for free. How do we truly be of service to people? By helping them get the change they came in for, plus more. To do that effectively you have to ask for payment and you have to be paid enough. We want you to charge enough for your services. What money really is, is ability. When good people have money, they have the ability to do good things. We know that as a hypnotist, the whole foundation of your practice is built from wanting to do good things, we we don't want anybody feeling bad about accepting money for services. Charge the correct amount for your sessions, and you're going to get better results for your clients.
3. Not requiring pre-payment for hypnosis sessions.
We all know how frustrating it is when clients change or show up late or don't show up at all. Well there is an easy way to solve this problem, and that is requiring pre-payment. A hypnosis practice is not a like a restaurant where you provide services and then get paid. We’re going to say this again because we want it to sink in, people only value what they put time, money and effort into. Clients who have to pay money upfront, will feel more invested in their session and take it more seriously. For some people, they might be thinking that they'll sign up and they might change their mind later, because if they don’t have to put any money down then there is nothing holding them to that, so now you have people signing up that aren't really committed to begin with and aren’t taking it seriously, because they didn't give you any money. Get people that are committed. You know they're committed by making that financial commitment onto your calendar. You know they're going to show up. Then you get to show up and do some really amazing work with them.
4. Not signing clients up for session packages.
To really get results, clients need to be all-in. You can't be tentative. So this happens when hypnotists sign clients up for just one session instead of session packages. Don’t do this! The "We'll do one session and see how it goes" approach is not the right approach. You’re not going to be able to get your clients the results they want and need in just one session, so for both your benefit and the benefit of your clients, you need to sign clients up for session packages. You can even offer a discount on packages! Then what happens is they're more likely to sign up for the sessions and they're also more likely to show up with the proper mental attitude.
5. Never guarantee your hypnosis sessions.
It is always a mistake to offer guarantees to our clients for a variety of reasons. They need to know that the change that they are making is up to them. Hypnotists use guarantees as a kind of a sales pitch, like a lot of businesses do. But there's many, many problems with offering guarantees. First of all the biggest problem is that, it's a lie. You cannot guarantee that your client is going to change, that change is highly dependent on the client themself, and you cannot guarantee that. You have the ability to really help your clients and do really awesome work with them, but you cannot offer guarantees. Just continue to do the amazing work that we do as hypnotists, and the results your clients get will speak for themselves.
We want to help change the world with the power of hypnosis, and the only way that can be done is if hypnotists are able to overcome obstacles like these money blocks, and be able to grow their practice and help more and more clients.
Reaching financial success as a hypnotist means you get to reinvest in your business. It means you can write books or create videos. It means you can travel to learn and educate yourself. Financial success means you’re not worrying about how to feed your family. Financial success is the best thing you can do to serve your clients. When your business is running smooth, you can focus on your clients, and get them the results they came to see you for!
I look forward to seeing you in class! Let's help people lead better lives with hypnosis.
From my heart to yours,
