If you’ve been considering a career in hypnotherapy, you’ve likely seen websites that promise hypnosis training for free. If so, you’ve probably asked yourself, “How much does it actually cost to learn hypnotherapy? Can I really become a hypnotherapist for free?”
The truth is, you can learn some aspects of hypnosis for free, but if you want a career in hypnotherapy, you’ll need to invest in a comprehensive training and certification program.
Though the $95 overnight training may be tempting, I always suggest anyone who is thinking about becoming a hypnotherapist and feeling led by their higher purpose in life to think more deeply about what they expect from their career.
I'm assuming you're taking this step because you are passionate about helping others. This is great! Cost isn't the most important thing to consider when looking for a training course that brings lasting relief to your clients. In my experience, the most important factor is quality, and price is a secondary consideration.
Here are the three biggest reasons for prioritizing quality education:
A proper training and certification program provides you with the tools for a successful, ethically sound practice
Quality training leads to more effective hypnotherapists (which is why every experienced hypnotherapist will tell you that the best training costs more than $100 and a handful of videos)
Hypnotherapy is a field where you can earn a comfortable living, if you have the education to back it up
You won’t get hands-on experience in a controlled environment, with real-time feedback, from a simple course found online. You can learn some aspects of hypnotherapy, but there is so much more that goes into it. A short course simply can’t cover it all.
So, while cost can certainly play into your decision, it shouldn’t be your primary consideration if your goal is to create a successful practice.
Our program costs more than others because it offers advanced hypnotherapeutic techniques with a solid foundation, while teaching you how to earn a comfortable living in this heart-centered career.
When you complete a quality hypnotherapy training and certification program, you’ll learn to communicate with clients in a way that creates comfort and trust. You’ll also develop important professional soft skills such as patience, compassion, and establishing a calming presence.
And, if you’re looking to create a six-figure practice, you’ll find our training particularly useful, as we teach you how to start and market a successful practice. Our business resources set us apart from even mid-tier programs.
So, what should you look for in a hypnotherapy training program?
When assessing a program, make sure it includes all of the following (feel free to print this list):
Structured Syllabus. The course should have a lesson plan in place.
Accreditation. Make sure the training program is approved by a national organization, such as the National Guild of Hypnotists.
Certification. Becoming certified from a well-respected institution demonstrates a commitment to your profession. A quality program includes certification from a professional organization like the National Guild of Hypnotists.
Credentialed Instructor. At a minimum, your training should be led by a certified professional hypnotherapy instructor. Ideally, your instructor will have awards and accolades for proof of qualifications.
Live Education. Your program should include real-time access to an experienced instructor.
Hands-On Lessons. A quality program includes hands-on instruction with peers, which helps build skill and confidence.
Advanced Topic Coverage. To bring lasting change for your clients, you’ll need to understand all the tools available to you, including advanced techniques.
Business Building. To open a successful practice, you’ll need to understand the essentials of starting and promoting your business.
Mentorship. Although not required for everyone, a mentorship program is ideal because it provides a source of continuing support as you build your business.
Testimonials. Real testimonials from alumni who are now working professionals can speak volumes about a program’s value.
It’s unfortunate that few hypnotherapy training programs offer comprehensive training. But, at Cascade Hypnosis Training, we take the quality of our program and graduates seriously, which is why we only accept a handful of students each quarter.
The truth is, quality hypnotherapy training will cost more than a cup of coffee. Yes, there are $100 programs and $1000 programs out there. But low-tier and mid-tier programs will not prepare you for a successful career as a hypnotherapist.
So, while cost may be a consideration in your decision for where to train, it isn’t a primary factor for those whose priority is to bring lasting change to clients and make a comfortable living.
