Never underestimate the resilience of the human spirit. Believe in your client beyond anything they can imagine. Hold that belief, polish it up, and make it shine. For all of our faults and shortcomings as humans, we are incredible creatures with abilities that go way beyond our current understanding of possibility.
A hypnosis script is really a method for delivering hypnosis suggestions. And the best hypnosis suggestions come from your client. This was briefly covered in chapter 4 on the Most Powerful Hypnotic Words, but here is more detail.
For example, Lori came to me to lose weight.
On her first hypnosis session, she said to me “I just don’t want to think about food anymore.”
I wrote that down, verbatim.
Later, in the hypnosis session, Lori had significant insight as to why she had been unable to lose weight and keep it off. She felt lighter and released limiting beliefs about herself as a writer, and a mother.
I said to her, “And now because of these insights, you realize you just don’t want to think about food anymore. And it’s easy for you to do so. Instead, you’re thinking of all the other things that are important to you – your writing, your daughter, the characters in your stories.”
After the session, Lori told me that when I said to her “you just don’t want to think about food anymore,” it really sunk in, and she felt the difference.
The next week she came in for her third session and reported that she hardly thought about food all week long. She was more peaceful and happy than she’d been in a long time, and her life seemed richer – fuller because she was focused on other things that were more important to her.
