Welcome to episode #27 of "Living Hypnotically," where we delve into the transformative power of hypnosis.
I'm thrilled to share my conversation with Gregory Newton, a fellow professional hypnotist and grad of our hypnosis certification training program, dedicated to helping people find relief from chronic conditions and reclaim their lives.
When severe tinnitus strikes after a traumatic brain injury, the constant invasive signal can become unbearable. For many, traditional medical interventions offer limited relief, leaving them desperate for solutions.
This was Gregory Newton's reality. However, his story took a remarkable turn when he discovered hypnosis - a powerful tool that not only helped him overcome debilitating tinnitus but also ignited a passion within him to help others on their journey of healing.

Greg's journey began with traumatic concussions that resulted in an undiagnosed TBI. Months later, severe tinnitus emerged as a side effect - a constant, invasive signal that affected his mental health, his ability to work, and his capacity to sleep.
As a successful IT professional with 35 years in prodeuct development and cybersecurity, Greg had intelligence, resources, and determination. He tried everything - specialists, medications, stress reduction techniques. He even invested $5,000 in the most effective medical device on the market, involving isotonic tones and electrical stimulation.
Nothing worked, and Greg reached a point of desperation he'd never experienced before. He left his high-level career, standing on the edge with nowhere else to turn.
The turning point came when Greg discovered Cascade Hypnosis Center while researching neuroplasticity and brain change. He began learning self-hypnosis on his own, and by the time our training class started, he was already experiencing relief.
Through hypnosis, Greg found the tools he needed to not only survive but to thrive. What's remarkable is that during a 7,000-mile motorcycle trip at the height of his tinnitus, the engine noise made it brutal. Yet by the time we spoke, Greg could talk about his tinnitus without experiencing it at all - something that would have been impossible before.
One of the key concepts we discussed was the brain's ability to forget - and how this is actually a master skill, not a deficiency. When we suggest hypnotically that it's easy for the brain to forget signals that no longer serve us, clients experience surprising outcomes.
I call these "mind blow" moments - when clients return amazed that they went through their whole day and forgot they hadn't felt that pain, or forgot they hadn't reached for a cigarette. The brain helped them forget what they no longer needed.
Greg experienced this firsthand with his tinnitus. The invasive signal that once dominated his experience can now be completely absent, even when discussing it directly.
People who have known Greg for years have noticed profound changes. An 80-year-old friend from church told him directly: "You are speaking from a different part of yourself." Greg himself notices that he responds differently to stress and is more in touch with what's really going on.
Inspired by his own healing journey, Greg became a certified hypnotist. He took our hypnosis certification training and opened Nordvaka Hypnosis in Stanwood, Washington. Through his practice, Greg has empowered individuals to overcome chronic conditions and reclaim their lives. His approach is rooted in the belief that everyone has the power to heal from within.
His message to potential clients is direct and compassionate: "There is a healthy way out. You don't have to feel that way one more day. You're not as unique as this thing is telling you you are. There is a solution."
Greg's story is a testament to the transformative power of hypnosis. For those who feel like they've tried everything and nothing has worked, hypnosis offers a new path - a path of hope, healing, and profound personal transformation. If you're struggling with chronic conditions or any other challenge, consider giving hypnosis a try. As Greg's journey shows, it just might be the key to unlocking the relief you've been searching for.
