Erika has a vulnerable exploration into the shadows that ultimately led her to making the biggest change of her life by turning to hypnosis. She talks about how the darkest times were due to a complete lack of spirituality and connection to anything outside of herself. They also talk about how business owners can often struggle the most because of money blocks, self medicating, and lacking personal depth; more so than struggling due to lack of funding or concept.

2:28 - Tell us how you got to where you are today.

4:03 - Can you talk more about when you were struggling with drinking, and that period before you had the life changing realization to change?

6:42 - You're at this extremely low point, and decided you were going to live. So what was it that you chose to live for?

8:57 - One of the ways that we can "Travel" is through the written word and reading others' experiences. Some people physically travel to gain insights and journeys, but it sounds like you used literature of others to accomplish the same thing. So what eventually led you to hypnosis?

12:09 - Media, tv, and movies drives so much of how our society learns and understands things, so for hypnosis we've mostly seen spirals, mind control, and "you're getting very sleepy…" So tell us more about hypnosis and the process of going deeper?

17:17 - Let's branch off of that from a business owner's standpoint. Many business owners can miss knowing exactly who they are on the inside, and focus mostly on their strengths as defined by external forces. Corporations are often looking for more ways to control others or find ways to influence others, but hypnosis is more internal and allows you to create power from your internal strengths rather than external control. And I think you touched on something powerful about how a lot of business fail, not so much because of lack of money or concept, but because it all comes from the leader and what's going on in their mind.

21:03 - Can you unpack why people self medicate?

24:35 - And our culture and values definitely influence our work ethic. We seem to value business and always being available rather than leisure time and personal enrichment. So many people don't find peace or fulfillment, or try and find it by traveling rather than looking inward. Our country has an odd combination of being built on being very independent and even self absorbed with external success, but at the same time many people avoid doing nice things for themselves because it's seen as "selfish." But once you get into some of the benefits of understanding yourself then you start making crisper decisions, you start understanding where the mitigates are; you get comfortable with knowing not every piece will go to plan and I'm comfortable and okay with that because I know I'm still on the journey and can find peace.

28:25 - This pandemic has been what it's been, and it's a very busy time of the year where stressors seem to hit people harder, especially if they're attached with family at all. And it has put a lot of pressure on society to be open to adapting and changing. A lot of societies ills have been eliminated during this time, and the "united" in United States of America has been challenged.

31:25 - "As we get better understanding of ourselves internally, right, I think that's going to help our society as a whole," says Ron. Erika goes on to discusses how the pandemic was ultimately freeing in understanding how many things filled her day not because she really wanted or need to do them, but because she thought she should be doing them.

32:47 - Tell us about your books!

41:45 - What do you see next for yourself, the hypnosis center, or even hypnosis in general?
